You’ll find plenty of ways to stir the romantic spirit in San Antonio!
San Antonio blooms year-round with boundless natural beauty, accented by lush greenery, charming, historic villages and gorgeous parks. Upon arrival, take a peaceful stroll along the scenic River Walk (also known as the Paseo del Rio) past quaint shops and picturesque colonial architecture. Or enjoy a relaxing cruise along the serpentine, shimmery San Antonio River shaded by towering cypresses, oaks and willows and bordered by gardens of flowering ornamental plants. Take a sunset cruise up the new River Walk Museum Reach and take in the dazzling public art along the banks -- you can enjoy the art illuminated as darkness descends.
Throughout the city, you’ll also discover many of the country’s finest spas and luxurious hotels offering a magnificent haven for revitalizing your mind, body and soul. And nothing sparks romance better than being serenaded by a mariachi band during a candlelit dinner. Many of the restaurants here blend sumptuous cuisine with a sophisticated ambiance.
During your visit, venture out to Marriage Island located in the middle of the San Antonio River. This small island is well-known as a place for many couples to exchange their vows. Be sure to visit the Little Church of La Villita. This church, built in 1879, is now a non-denominational house of worship, where many couples hold their marriage ceremonies.
Of course, no visit to San Antonio is complete without a horse drawn carriage under the silvery, glistening moonlight. It’s the perfect way to top off your romantic trip!
